THE ISLANDS Home

There are many Tropical Paradises around the world, but when it comes to ratings, Phuket always comes among the favorites. Phuket is known as the "Pearl of the South" in Thailand and the "Pearl of Orient" for the rest of the world. Sitting on the Andaman Sea, Phuket is at 870 km south od Bangkok. Phuket is world class international getaway; white sandy beaches, bordered with coconut palms, hot and translucent water and surrounded by many smaller islands.

The Islands we have selected for you are the following:

Coral Island: is a superb small island sitting just off Rawai beach on the extreme south of Phuket. A 5-10min boat ride will get you there. Most of the Island is untouched by man hand offering a luxuriant vegetation and birds. It is blessed with two main beaches that have resorts. Its also there you find nice sea food restaurants in a totally unique environment.

Racha Yai: is a beautiful island that managed to keep its natural feeling despite tourism. The vegetation is abundant, the scenery impressive and the water is clear and hot. An ideal place to escape. Racha Yai lies 20km South Est of Phuket. Racha Yai is also a favored diving spot for recreational divers who visit these islands on a daily basis.

Racha Yai is mainly populated by fisherman and the sea is there way of life. The main beach is on the north part of the Island in Ao Tawan Tok (commonly called Bungalow Bay), a U shaped natural bay. The sand is white like snow and as fine as talk. Recently Racha Yai has seen a larger hotel come to life, but the main accommodations here are basic bungalows. Electricity is generator dependant, so availably nearly exclusively only in the evening.

Getting to Racha Yai is fairly easy too. Leaving from Rawai beach there are many "long tail" boats (45min) and speed boats (25min) that will taxi you to Racha Yai.The Ban Rayai operates its own transfers.

PhiPhi Island: The two Islands of Phi Phi have a fascinating beauty and have attracted tourists since early in the century, but developed only in the past 20 years. The island is beach and hills, one of them culminating at 498m high. From an aerial view, Phi Phi resembles a giant dumbbell. The complete tour around Phi Phi Don , the bigger Island measures 20 km.

Phi Phi's beauty reputation comes from here nine sparkling white sanded creeks blessed with pristine coral reefs, clear and hot water. Phi Phi is an amazing place to scuba dive or free dive. The local population was a small fishing village, now hidden by the growing tourism industry.

Phi Phi Ley is a gigantic rock and cliff formation containing many cave formations and separated by a a canyon bowl shaped supplied by fresh water falling from the surrounding cliffs. Nobody lives here but there are superb isolated beaches that can be reached by "longtail" boat..
