| NAUI | |||||||||||||||||||||
Founded in 1960 by passionate divers, NAUI is a non-profit educational organization. In the US, NAUI takes care of professional agency's such as the police department, the fire department and NASA. NAUI is dedicated to divers education and lives through the motto "Dive Safety Through Education". In it's early days NAUI was a member of CMAS but in 1996, NAUI restructured and became NAUI Worldwide. In 1997 NAUI created a Technical Department directed by Tim O'Leary. It's first mission was to codify the tec community training practices resulting in a higher standard of training worldwide. For expert help, NAUI asked the people who created the technology, protocols and training methods that produced a tec diving community. On the board of directors can be found most of the fame in today's diving. Today, NAUI offers the full range of diving courses; recreational, technical and even deep free diving. No matter which course you undertake with NAUI, your instructor will make sure you are fully qualified before issuing any dive certification. This puts NAUI in the same lines as CMAS, where knowledge primes over business. |
