PADI Home

In 1966, Ralf Erikson associated with John Cronin left NAUI in order to create their own dive agency. With a totally different vision of what the dive industry could be, they believed that diving could be a true business and strived to develop a system they could export world wide and succeeded in their adventure.

With 100,000 professional members operating in 175 countries and territories, PADI Instructors are the most ethnically, culturally and racially diverse group of dive educators in the world. This means that potential dive consumer seeking diver education has a much greater chance of finding a PADI course offered in their country by a person from their own culture and in their own language.

In 2001, PADI, through DSAT launched a technical diving branch. DSAT offers the TEC REC programs that goes all the way to Trimix Diving.
