SDI IT Staff Instructor Course

Course Overview

The SDI IT Staff Instructor will train candidates to conduct the SDI Instructor Development Course (IDC) independently as well as conducting SDI specialty ratings for SDI Instructors and Assistant Instructors. It also prepares candidates for the Instructor Trainer Workshop.

Pre-requistes

Minimum age of 21.
Active status Scuba Instructor for at least 12 months.
Hold a current diving medical.
Certified minimum 50 divers of wich 20 Open Water, 5 Rescue Divers, 2 Divemasters/Assistant Instructors and 10 Specialty divers.
First Aid and CPR certified (not older than 12 months).
Oxygen Provider certified.

Course duration and number of dives

The IT Staff Instructor course can be completed within 10 days. 4 dives are required.

Equipment requirement

The IT Staff Instructor course has some specific equipment requirement more than your standard recreational dive gear. The candidate needs to add to the standard kit a knif, diving torche and note slate. We require that all candidates carry also a spool, SMB and wriste slate. Ocean Zone Divers offers special Instructor equipment packages for those interested.
