Course Overview

This course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to teach cavern and overhead environments diving within the limits of light penetration; in addition outlines specific hazards associated with cave diving. The cavern course is not intended to provide instruction for cave diving environments. The objective of this course is to instructors to teach the proper planning, procedures, techniques and hazards of cavern diving. In addidtion this courses tests the overall attitude to safety.

Pre-requistes

Minumum age of 21.
Open water Scuba instructor certified.
Nitrox instructor certified.
Full cave diver certified.
Proof of 100 logged full cave dives.
Proof of certifying 4 TDI students and assisting 1 full TDI Cavern course.
Provide recomendation of a TDI Cave Instructor.

The Cavern instructor course is a 3 day course and 4 dives are required.

Equipment requirement

The Cavern instructor course has some specific equipment requirement more than your standard recreational dive gear. The cavern instructor program requires 2 lights, spool, cutting devices and line arrow.
