Course Overview

This is the entry-level certification course for divers wishing to utilize the KISS or Evolution/Inspiration closed circuit rebreather for air diving. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving a Closed Circuit Rebreathers and to develop basic skills to a maximum depth of 30msw using air as a diluent. No decompression is allowed during this course.

Pre-requistes

Minumum age of 18.
Proof of 20 logged dives.
Nitrox certified.

The Closed Circuit Rebreather MOD1 diver course covers:

History and evolution of rebreathers
Comparison of Open Circuit, Semi-Closed Circuit and Closed Circuit
Practical mechanics of the system
Physiology
Proper scrubber packing
Electronic or manual systems design and maintenance
Dive tables & dive computers
Dive planning
Problem solving - Emergency procedures

Course duration and number of dives

The Closed Circuit Rebreather MOD1 diver course is a 4 day course and 7 dives are required.

Equipment requirement

The Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver course has no specific equipment requirement more than your standard recreational dive gear. We supply the unit, tanks and mixes, and the oxygen analyser.
