Today at around 10.30AM we began the first dive of the expedition. 3 zodiacs picked the team up from the waterfront and sped us out to the first wreck...an unknown vessel lying about 50m deep, about 1 mile from the coast of Sicily. Our team of 6 dived in 2 groups and descended upon the wreck with the following profile:

50m - 25 min

deco stops:
30m - 1 min
27m - 1 min
24m - 2 min
21m - 3 min
18m - 4 min
15m - 5 min
12m - 6 min
9m - 12 min
6m - 18 min

We saw artifacts (mainly shell cases), but none that could positively identify the wreck. We may dive it again later in the week.

After the dive, Dr. Salvaggio ran Doppler ultrasound tests to determine the level of microbubbles in the bloodstream of each diver. He will run specific tests throughout the expedition and publish his findings at a later date.
