Another beautifull week spent
in the Kao Sok cave system lying in the Kao Sok national parc.
We were a few divers to explore the cave system first mapped by
Cedric Verdier this last year. All of the team members are experienced
Instructors and Instructor Trainers from various agency's but
this week was just for fun.
In order to dive Kao Sok, the
team needed to bring over all the dive gear required. There is
no dive center in this area... The diving is done from long tails
chartered for the week and the accomodation is composed of basic
bungalows forming bases used mostly for ecotourists wishing to
visit the parc. The base is actually a floating village rigged
to the side of the lake and is definitly very basic. Electricity
is available between 6pm and 10pm, there is no telephone connection,
the only means of communication is to use the VHF that links all
bases to the park rangers. All in all its a pretty remote location
were you feel fare away from the "civilised" world.
