Ocean Zone Divers travelled in October 2000 to Brisbane, Australia to give a Trimix Workshop to NAUI Australia. Four candidates signed in for this course:

- Paul O'MALLEY owner of Mantis Diving in Brisbane
- Noel TEUFEL works for NAUI Australia
- Geoffrey SHRIMSKY owner of Sydney Scuba in Sydney
- Alan STRONG owner of Stirling Sports shops in New Zealand

It was the first time such a course was run in Australia and the four candidates are now the first four Trimix instructors on Australian grounds. The course was run off the MV Esperance Star, beautiful vessel that can accommodate ten divers in comfort with full AC for the warm summer nights. The dives were run mostly on the numerous wrecks lying off Brisbane, some of which still untouched.
