Site : the wreck of the Bengasi lies about 1 miles
off Villasimius. Co-ordinates: Depth : the top deck lies at 87m and the deepest portion of the ship (her stern) at 95m. |
||
THE DIVE | ||
The wreck of the Bengasi is
a fantastic dive due to her nearly intact structure and her cargo. Submerged
in very clear water, she lies upstraight on her keel. The dive can start
at the bow where the canon remains. In a very condidtion, she is still
pointing upwards to the sky defying her agressors. Moving forward towards
the bow, we encounter two holds which are realy worth a visit. You find
here dishes over which marine life has been growing providing a splendid
atmosphere. Futher on still a passage way leds to the engine room where
penetration is possible but with the proper training and care !!! |
||
DIFFICULTY | ||
The main difficulty lies in the depth.
Their is generaly only mild currents and the visibility is usualy excelent.
The dives will be done on a helium based mixture and any penetration will
take special care. |
